Are you ready to be the REAL you?

Girl_fist_smallConfused by the question? Think about it – are you ready to realise your true potential? Before you can do this perhaps you need to think about what is stopping you right now?

Do you consider yourself to be a successful business person? Someone who runs a small business well? Is your business success a result of your service or product or is it about who you are as a person? Naturally there is needs to be a bit of both in there to balance out the “who” and the “what”. But how successful is the person that is you?

Self confidence is one of the main reasons why many businesspeople do not really achieve success. Are you thinking that this is a rather bold and general statement? On one hand yes, however being realistic and observing how people interact and do business with one another, on the other hand no.

At the beginning of this article you were asked what is stopping you right now from realising your true potential. This is where the concept of self confidence comes in. On the outside are you seen by others as a confident person who wins business from positive meetings? But inside are you someone who actually lets the wedge of doubt cloud your judgement and the amount of success you should achieve?

Do you know why the most successful business people achieve as they do? It’s about having a balance or being congruent. Your inner self confidence needs to balance with your outer self confidence. Then and only then will you be truly successful.

Like to take a few steps to build your inner self confidence?

Try these:

  1. Remove the wedge of doubt. Adopt a “Can Do” attitude to everything you do.
  2. Stop criticising faults in others. It’s wasted, negative energy. Accept people for who they are and yourself for who you are.
  3. Meditate. Make time each day for you to reflect. Make it a habit to free your thoughts and focus each day on how you can make a difference.
  4. Be kind to yourself. Treat yourself with compassion. Stop doubting your ability and who your can be.
  5. Be thankful for the simple things. A kind word or small gestures really do go a long way.

Remember the only person stopping you is YOU!
