Welcome to Mum’s The Blog!  Our names are Sam and Helen and we are both mums of young children who have set up and run a small business from home. We are not experts – we are just mums who didn’t want to go back to work after our children were born so looked around for work at home opportunities. We are still learning ourselves, and have made our share of mistakes along the way – but we believe there is strength in numbers, and that by having having the right information and supporting each other we can all learn and grow.

We set up Mum’s The Boss in the summer of 2008 as a Networking/Support group for Bedfordshire mums who work from home, run their own business or franchise or who would like to set up in business on their own, where we offer an informal, supportive, child-friendly environment to meet other mums in business, to learn from each other and to promote each other’s businesses wherever we can.

Our blog was set up in April 2009 and we hope it will become a general resource to motivate, inform and inspire work at home mums all over the country. And in September this year we will be holding our first events for mums hoping to start up in business. We have lots more plans for Mum’s The Boss for 2010 so keep in touch and watch this space!
